Recommended for families seeking convenience
The staff, man, they really went outta their way. We got greeted with teddy bears for the kids right when we walked in—that’s some kind of hospitality. Plus, the breakfast set-up was great. just grab and go, perfect for my little ones who never want to sit still.
It wasn’t a bargain, but I guess that’s the price of a bit of comfort.

The historic charm of the old Citadel building and the amazing breakfast selections made our stay memorable. It was great to unwind with free drinks during the evening social hour.

Great spot in downtown
Had a solid stay for 3 nights. The location's awesome, right near King Street. Breakfast was a hit—lots of choices and friendly staff. Just a bit cramped with 4 adults in a suite, and we ran low on towels. Definitely needs a little TLC, but it's still a good deal overall.

Just a decent option for getting around Charleston at a good value. The room was big, but had issues like musty smell. Make sure to check for any maintenance needs when you arrive.

The room was pretty outdated. I felt like it needed some serious updating. The mattress wasn't great, definitely not what I expect from Embassy Suites. On the bright side, the location was pretty good, making it easy to walk around. But I can't get over how much I paid for parking. It was higher than I thought it should be! Overall, not my favorite stay here.

I loved the unique historical feel of this hotel, which used to be the old Citadel. The location is fantastic—perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. Breakfast had a good variety and was generally tasty, which was a nice perk. The bar also had excellent pours during the happy hour. However, the rooms are in serious need of updates. my bed felt old and uncomfortable, and I noticed some maintenance issues like the air conditioning not cooling properly. The staff were friendly overall, but I experienced long wait times for service at times, especially during the evening reception where limited drink options were frustrating. Finding parking was a hassle too. the valet was closed on our arrival and public parking wasn’t clearly guided by the hotel. These issues made the stay less enjoyable than expected.

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to many attractions, which was a big plus. However, the room furniture and decor are quite outdated and in need of significant upgrades. Breakfast options were excellent, but the evening reception lacked variety and could benefit from improvement.

We loved the fantastic location, walking distance to all the main attractions. The hotel has a nice historical charm and a lovely courtyard area where we enjoyed relaxing with the kids. The friendly staff made our stay enjoyable.
For dads, it would be great if there were more kid-friendly amenities, like better entertainment options in the room.

Great location with a historic vibe
I recently stayed for 3 nights in a Queen Suite, and I loved the historical charm of the building. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, featuring southern favorites that really added to the experience. The location is impeccable, making it easy to explore the historic sites on foot. However, the room could benefit from some updates and a deeper clean.
